By placing and confirming an order with Baltic Sauna Craft, the customer agrees to the applicable quotation, specifications, invoice, and these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply under Latvian or other applicable consumer protection law.
2. QUOTATIONS AND ORDERS
Most Baltic Sauna Craft products are manufactured to order.
Customers may request a quotation through our website, email, social media, telephone, or other agreed communication channels.
A quotation may specify the product model, dimensions, timber type, heater, windows, doors, bench configuration, accessories, delivery price, and other selected options.
A quotation alone does not place the product into production.
An order is considered confirmed once the customer has accepted the agreed specification and the required payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the quotation, invoice, dimensions, configuration, heater selection, delivery address, and other specifications before making payment.
3. CUSTOM AND MADE-TO-ORDER PRODUCTS
The majority of Baltic Sauna Craft products are individually manufactured according to the customer's selected specifications.
Customisation may include, but is not limited to:
• Product dimensions
• Timber selection
• Bench configuration
• Window configuration
• Door configuration
• Heater type
• Electrical equipment
• Lighting
• Exterior finish
• Roofing
• Changing rooms
• Terraces and porches
• Accessories
• Other individually requested modifications
The customer is responsible for confirming that the selected product dimensions and configuration are suitable for the intended installation location.
Once production has started, requested changes may not always be possible. Where changes are possible, additional material, labour, administration, or production costs may apply.
4. PRICES, VAT AND TAXES
Prices are provided in the customer's quotation or invoice.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, delivery, unloading, installation, local permits, electrical connection, site preparation, foundations, customs charges, import duties, taxes, and other third-party expenses are not included in the product price.
VAT and other applicable taxes will be charged or treated according to applicable Latvian and EU legislation, the customer's status, destination country, and the nature of the transaction.
B2B customers are responsible for providing accurate company and VAT information where applicable.
Customers outside the European Union may be responsible for import VAT, customs duties, clearance charges, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed in the destination country unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
5. PAYMENT
Payment terms are specified on the quotation or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the required payment must be received before production begins.
Production scheduling starts after the required payment has been received and the final product configuration has been confirmed.
Where staged payments have specifically been agreed, the remaining balance must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule.
Baltic Sauna Craft may postpone production or delivery if an agreed payment has not been received.
6. MANUFACTURING TIME
Our normal manufacturing period for saunas is approximately 4–6 weeks unless another timeframe is specified in the quotation.
Manufacturing times are estimates and may vary depending on the product, customisation, material availability, order volume, holidays, supplier delays, weather conditions, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Delivery time is additional to the manufacturing period unless specifically stated otherwise.
Baltic Sauna Craft will make reasonable efforts to inform customers if a significant delay occurs.
7. NATURAL WOOD CHARACTERISTICS
Wood is a natural material.
Variations in colour, grain, texture, knots, resin, small cracks, checking, movement, expansion, contraction, and other natural characteristics may occur.
Timber also changes naturally due to temperature, moisture, sunlight, weather exposure, and normal use.
These natural characteristics are not automatically considered manufacturing defects.
Thermowood and other treated timber generally offer improved dimensional stability and durability, but they remain natural wood products and still require appropriate care.
The appearance and colour of timber may gradually change over time, particularly when exposed to UV radiation and outdoor weather.
8. PRODUCT DIMENSIONS AND TOLERANCES
Product dimensions shown on our website, drawings, quotations, catalogues, or other documents are intended to describe the product as accurately as reasonably possible.
Because many products are handmade and timber is a natural material, minor dimensional tolerances may occur during manufacturing.
Customers requiring a product to fit within a restricted area must inform Baltic Sauna Craft before confirming the order.
The customer is responsible for ensuring sufficient access and installation clearance at the destination.
9. PRODUCT IMAGES, DRAWINGS AND EXAMPLES
Photographs, renders, technical drawings, website images, social media content, and previous customer products may be used to demonstrate our products and available configurations.
Because products are manufactured to order, the delivered product may differ from example photographs due to the customer's selected options, natural timber variation, material availability, or agreed design changes.
Colours displayed on screens may differ from the appearance of physical materials.
Unless specifically agreed as part of an order, illustrative drawings and renders should not be treated as architectural or engineering drawings.
10. DELIVERY
Delivery arrangements and prices are agreed individually and specified in the quotation or invoice.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, delivery is curbside delivery to an accessible location suitable for the delivery vehicle.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery location can be safely accessed by the required transport vehicle.
The customer must inform Baltic Sauna Craft before delivery of restricted roads, narrow entrances, low bridges, weight restrictions, difficult access, private roads, or other circumstances that may affect delivery.
Additional transport costs caused by undisclosed access restrictions may be charged to the customer where legally permitted.
Delivery dates and times provided by Baltic Sauna Craft or a transport company are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.
11. UNLOADING
Unless unloading has specifically been included in the quotation, the customer is responsible for arranging appropriate unloading equipment and/or sufficient manpower.
Depending on the product, this may require a forklift, telehandler, crane, or other suitable lifting equipment.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that unloading is performed safely and using equipment suitable for the product's weight and dimensions.
Baltic Sauna Craft is not responsible for damage caused during customer-arranged unloading, lifting, movement, or positioning after delivery, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
12. DELIVERY INSPECTION AND TRANSPORT DAMAGE
The customer should inspect the product and packaging upon delivery wherever reasonably possible.
Any visible transport damage should be photographed and reported to Baltic Sauna Craft as soon as reasonably possible.
Where possible, visible damage should also be recorded on the carrier's delivery documentation before accepting the shipment.
Customers should provide photographs and a description of the damage so that Baltic Sauna Craft can assess the issue and, where appropriate, make a claim with the transport provider.
Signing a delivery document does not remove any mandatory legal rights the customer may have.
13. FOUNDATION AND SITE PREPARATION
The customer is responsible for preparing a suitable foundation or supporting surface before installation or placement of the product.
The foundation must be level, stable, appropriately drained, and capable of supporting the complete weight of the product during normal use.
Suitable foundations may vary depending on the product and installation site.
Baltic Sauna Craft may provide general recommendations, but responsibility for determining whether a foundation complies with local structural, planning, building, and ground conditions remains with the customer and their relevant contractors or professionals.
Damage caused by an unsuitable, unstable, uneven, incorrectly constructed, or poorly drained foundation may not be covered by the commercial warranty.
14. INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY
Products may be supplied fully assembled, partially assembled, or flat-packed depending on the customer's order.
For flat-packed products, the customer is responsible for correct assembly unless assembly services have specifically been purchased.
Any instructions supplied with the product should be followed.
Baltic Sauna Craft is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect customer or third-party assembly, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Customers should contact Baltic Sauna Craft before proceeding if they are uncertain about an assembly detail.
15. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
Electrical heaters, lighting, controllers, sockets, Wi-Fi equipment, and other electrical components must be installed and connected in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's instructions and applicable local electrical regulations.
Final electrical connection must be performed by a suitably qualified electrician where required by local law.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the electrical supply at the installation location is suitable for the selected heater and equipment.
Baltic Sauna Craft is not responsible for damage or malfunction caused by incorrect electrical connection, unsuitable power supply, incorrect protective devices, unauthorized modifications, or installation contrary to applicable requirements.
16. WOOD-BURNING HEATERS AND CHIMNEYS
Wood-burning heaters, chimney systems, heat shields, protective bases, and related components must be installed and used according to the manufacturer's instructions and applicable local fire, building, and safety regulations.
Required safety distances from combustible materials must always be observed.
Local requirements can differ between countries and municipalities.
The customer is responsible for confirming local requirements and obtaining any necessary approvals before operating a wood-burning heater.
Where third-party components such as Harvia heaters or chimney systems are supplied, the manufacturer's installation and operating instructions must be followed.
17. PRODUCT CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Customers are responsible for reasonable maintenance of their product.
Appropriate maintenance may include:
• Maintaining adequate ventilation
• Allowing the sauna to dry after use
• Cleaning benches and interior surfaces appropriately
• Protecting exterior timber when necessary
• Inspecting roofing and weather protection
• Maintaining heaters according to manufacturer instructions
• Checking chimney systems where applicable
• Preventing standing water around the foundation
• Following hot-tub water treatment and maintenance requirements
• Protecting water systems from freezing where applicable
Failure to maintain the product appropriately may reduce its lifespan and may affect commercial warranty coverage where the lack of maintenance caused or contributed to the problem.
18. WARRANTY
Baltic Sauna Craft provides a 2-year commercial warranty on its manufactured products unless otherwise specified in writing.
This commercial warranty is additional to, and does not replace or reduce, any mandatory statutory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
The warranty generally covers manufacturing defects attributable to Baltic Sauna Craft.
Warranty claims should include:
• Customer name
• Order or invoice information
• Description of the issue
• Photographs or video showing the issue
• Any other information reasonably required to assess the claim
Baltic Sauna Craft may repair, replace, provide replacement components, or otherwise resolve a valid warranty claim as appropriate and in accordance with applicable law.
19. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Baltic Sauna Craft commercial warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:
• Normal wear and tear
• Natural timber movement
• Natural cracking or checking of timber
• Colour changes caused by sunlight or weather
• Incorrect installation
• Incorrect assembly
• Improper use
• Negligence
• Insufficient ventilation
• Failure to maintain the product
• Incorrect electrical connection
• Incorrect heater installation
• Failure to observe required safety distances
• Unauthorized modifications
• Damage caused by the customer or third parties
• Unsuitable or unstable foundations
• Flooding or standing water
• Extreme weather or other external events
• Failure to follow supplied instructions or manufacturer instructions
A natural timber characteristic is not automatically considered a defect.
Nothing in this section excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
20. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
Products may contain equipment manufactured by third parties, including heaters, controllers, chimney components, lighting, electrical components, pumps, hydro-massage systems, air systems, or other equipment.
Third-party equipment may also be covered by the original manufacturer's warranty and conditions.
Baltic Sauna Craft will provide reasonable assistance with warranty issues concerning components supplied as part of our product.
21. HOT TUBS AND COLD PLUNGES
Hot tubs and cold plunges require correct water maintenance, cleaning, drainage, and winter protection.
The customer is responsible for maintaining suitable water quality and following instructions for pumps, heaters, hydro systems, air systems, filtration systems, and other installed equipment.
In freezing temperatures, water must not be allowed to freeze inside equipment, pipes, pumps, heaters, or fittings unless the system is specifically designed and operated for those conditions.
Damage caused by freezing, unsuitable water chemistry, incorrect draining, or inadequate maintenance may not be covered by the commercial warranty.
22. CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
Customers should contact Baltic Sauna Craft as soon as possible if they wish to change or cancel an order.
Because our products are generally manufactured to the customer's specifications, cancellation or significant modification may not be possible once materials have been ordered, customised, cut, processed, or production has started.
Any agreed changes may result in additional costs and/or a revised production schedule.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or withdrawal right that the customer has under mandatory applicable consumer law.
23. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL AND CUSTOM-MADE PRODUCTS
Consumers purchasing at a distance may have statutory withdrawal rights under applicable consumer law.
However, statutory exceptions can apply to goods manufactured according to a consumer's specifications or goods that are clearly personalised.
Because many Baltic Sauna Craft products are individually manufactured according to customer-selected dimensions, materials, layouts, heaters, windows, doors, finishes, or other specifications, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply to a particular custom-made product where the applicable legal requirements for that exception are met.
For standard, non-personalised products where a statutory withdrawal right applies, Baltic Sauna Craft will respect the applicable withdrawal period and requirements.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove a consumer's statutory right of withdrawal where that right legally applies.
24. RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Customers wishing to return a product must contact Baltic Sauna Craft before arranging a return.
Return eligibility depends on the product, whether it was custom-made, the reason for the return, and applicable consumer law.
Products should not be returned without prior communication because saunas, hot tubs, and similar products require specialist freight arrangements.
Where a statutory right to return a product applies, the return and refund will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Where no statutory return right applies, any voluntary return or cancellation is subject to written agreement with Baltic Sauna Craft.
25. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOCAL REQUIREMENTS
Building, electrical, fire, chimney, planning, environmental, and installation regulations vary between countries and municipalities.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, the customer is responsible for checking requirements applicable at the final installation location.
This includes permits, approvals, electrical requirements, chimney regulations, building distances, planning requirements, and other applicable local requirements.
Baltic Sauna Craft can provide product specifications and manufacturer documentation reasonably available to us to assist the customer or their installer.
26. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Baltic Sauna Craft is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from improper installation, misuse, customer-arranged transport or lifting, unauthorized modification, unsuitable site conditions, or failure to follow instructions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights.
27. FORCE MAJEURE AND EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
Baltic Sauna Craft will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform obligations where caused by events outside our reasonable control, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Such events may include severe weather, natural disasters, transport disruption, border or customs delays, war, civil disturbance, strikes, government restrictions, supply-chain disruption, shortages of materials, energy interruptions, or other comparable circumstances.
Where such an event occurs, Baltic Sauna Craft will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and resume performance as soon as reasonably possible.
28. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, content created by Baltic Sauna Craft, including website text, photographs, product images, drawings, graphics, branding, logos, product designs, and marketing materials, remains the intellectual property of Baltic Sauna Craft or its respective rights holder.
Such content may not be commercially copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without permission where protected by applicable intellectual property law.
29. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information supplied when requesting a quotation or placing an order is used for purposes including responding to inquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, manufacturing products, arranging delivery, providing customer support, complying with legal obligations, and administering the customer relationship.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and the Baltic Sauna Craft Privacy Policy.
30. COMPLAINTS AND AFTER-SALES SUPPORT
Baltic Sauna Craft aims to resolve legitimate product concerns reasonably and efficiently.
Customers experiencing an issue should contact:
info@balticsaunacraft.com
Please include the order details, a clear description of the issue, and photographs or video where relevant.
Baltic Sauna Craft may request additional information where reasonably necessary to determine the cause of the issue and an appropriate solution.
31. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules applicable to the customer.
For consumers located in another country, this choice of law does not deprive the consumer of mandatory protections applicable under consumer law.
The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through direct communication.
Consumers may also have access to relevant consumer protection authorities, courts, or alternative dispute-resolution procedures under applicable law.
32. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Baltic Sauna Craft may update these Terms & Conditions when necessary to reflect changes to products, business practices, or legal requirements.
The Terms applicable to an order will generally be the version provided or available when that order was confirmed, subject to mandatory applicable law.
